About CGB Biospecimens

The CGB collect biospecimens in conjunction with large phase II and III clinical trials. What is collected varies with the types of cancer targeted by the group and the specific clinical trial protocol involved. Because the specimens are collected during a clinical trial, they are highly annotated and are obtained from subjects who have been diagnosed, staged and treated in a uniform fashion. The specimens are also collected under standardized and carefully controlled conditions to assure their highest quality. As such the specimens are exceptionally valuable and access is limited to projects of high scientific merit and relevance to cancer research. The types of specimens available from each group can be viewed using the specimen tool and the protocols under which the specimens have been collected can be accessed on ClinicalTrials.gov.
